Home Based Care

The home-based care team visits patients at their homes in New Eersterus, a township about 40 kilometres north of Pretoria. The team of 8 qualified carers, provides nursing assistance and food parcels, and teaches about healthy living. While most patients have HIV/AIDS, we also assist patients with other conditions, such as chronic diabetes or hypertension and patients with serious burn wounds. We support over 100 patients per month.

A small vegetable garden provides fresh vegetables for the patients. In 2021, a larger plot of land was made available by the local municipality. We have started a community garden there, in partnership with the local community.
